November 7, Sunday - Stage Coach/Clementine/Connector Trail - 3C
Fitness Ride at 10:00 A.M. We will ride up a few good climbs and take the road down for the climb back up Stagecoach. If it rains 24 hours prior, we have to cancel. Call me. Julie Porter 530-887-1378

November 13, Saturday - Beginner Skills Clinic
We'll go over the basic skills of mountain biking including shifting, braking, climbing, and descending to give you the foundations for mountain biking and joining club rides. We'll also discuss proper trailside etiquette, nutrition, and what to bring along for the ride. Some things to bring to the clinic: water, a bike helmet, something to eat, and sunscreen. We talk and practice and that always makes people hungry. Clinic lasts approximately 3-4 hours. The clinic is held at Lake Natomas in Folsom. Take Hwy 50 East (towards Tahoe) to Folsom. Take the Folsom Blvd exit. Turn left, going north, onto Folsom Blvd. and drive past Outlet stores (you can shop afterwards!). Go thru light at Blue Ravine Rd, turn left on Park Shore Drive. Parking lot is on right side. The clinic is for women only, but there may be some observers who are male who want to learn about our techniques. Please contact Lucy Barber at lgbarber@yahoo.com or 916-455-9771 if you are coming! Clinic is free to SASS members or $10 to non-members (includes a year's membership). You can pay at the clinic, check or cash.

November 16, Tuesday Night- Public Meeting, American River Trail Continuation from Coloma to Salmon Falls Road
A new multi-use trail is in the works from Coloma to Salmon Falls for about 9 miles of mountain biking potential! The trail would also include horseback riding and hiking. This meeting would provide the chance to give input on designing and building the trail. All of you who want this trail to become a reality and have Tuesday evening available should try to attend and represent the biking community. See www.fatrac.org for meeting location.
